KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Fourth Madani Budget, which will be tabled today, represents the government’s strong commitment to supporting the people without increasing the national debt. The Budget is “not just about numbers,” he added.
Anwar, in a Facebook post today, stressed that the Budget details the government’s plan for ongoing support and assistance to the rakyat.
“Watch the live presentation of the Madani Budget 2026 on all television channels and major digital platforms,” he added.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, tables the 2026 Budget in Parliament at 4 pm today. This spending plan is notable as the Fourth Madani Budget and the inaugural budget for the 13th Malaysia Plan.
It will serve as the core foundation for implementing the country’s development plans over the next five years.
Speaking to media editors on Wednesday, Prime Minister said the 2026 Budget would focus on three key areas: strengthening the economy, safeguarding the people’s welfare, and reinforcing sustainable and inclusive national foundations.
According to the Parliament’s calendar, the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026 will be debated by MPs for eight days at the policy stage. Ministerial winding-up sessions will then follow from October 29 to November 4.
The Bill is expected to be passed by the Dewan Rakyat following the committee stage debate, which will run from November 5 to 27. – October 10, 2025
