KUALA LUMPUR – From governance to growth, Budget 2026 charts the exact course as Grab Malaysia: driving a sustainable, high-tech economy while ensuring talent development, small business support, and inclusive success for every Malaysian.
Grab Malaysia’s Managing Director, Adelene Foo, affirmed that the company’s continuous enhancement of user and partner experience through technology solutions is central to its mission: to serve and empower all Malaysians, directly aligning with national priorities.”
“At Grab Malaysia, we remain committed to continue collaborating with the government and like-minded, industry stakeholders to future-proof the nation,” she said in a statement yesterday.
She highlighted that Grab Malaysia is actively advancing practical AI to uplift driver, delivery, and merchant partners alongside consumers. Key innovations include AI-enabled GrabMaps for superior accuracy, the AI Driver Companion for rapid demand finding, and the AI Merchant Assistant for boosting MSME growth and operational efficiency.
“This aligns with the government’s push under Budget 2026 to accelerate AI adoption and strengthen digital infrastructure. As Malaysia advances its growth agenda, we will continue investing in our partners and products so more Malaysians can earn, trade and move with confidence in the digital economy,” she said.
Foo expressed the company’s appreciation for initiatives like the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) programme, which assists e-hailing driver-partners with daily operating costs. She added the hope that such initiatives would evolve and expand to benefit a wider segment of gig workers.
“Our commitment to the well-being of our partners has always been our priority, and we have consistently invested in their welfare and safety over the years.
“This is translated into various efforts and benefits, including insurance coverage, contribution access to Social Security Organisation (Socso), safety features and enhancements, as well as day-to-day benefits such as financing support, savings on fuel and daily expenses,” she said.
At the same time, Foo noted that Grab continues to equip its partners with new skills through GrabAcademy programmes focusing on safety, digital tools, and compliance. This initiative is key to helping them raise productivity and build long-term earnings resilience. – October 11, 2025
