CYBERJAYA — Malaysia’s successful hosting of the 47th Asean Summit last month, particularly in terms of security and management, has earned praise from world leaders, including United States President Donald Trump, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar said Trump personally expressed his admiration for Malaysia’s efficiency and professionalism during his official visit to Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the summit, and even requested to meet Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail to personally convey his appreciation.
“Our entire team, especially the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), demonstrated an impressive level of professionalism and security management throughout the visits of President Trump and Chinese Premier Li Qiang. They were genuinely impressed by our efficiency.”
Anwar said this to reporters after launching the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 here today, which was also attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Deputy Local Government Development Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu.
The Prime Minister said Malaysia’s ability to manage high-profile international events had also drawn strong global attention.
“Earlier today, I met representatives of one of the world’s largest investment groups from New York. They already have initial investments here but are now even more confident, impressed not just with our infrastructure but also with our capabilities,” he added. — November 6, 2025
