PUTRAJAYA – A senior management official from a government ministry has been placed on immediate leave amid allegations of misconduct, according to Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
The decision was made to allow for a swift investigation into the claims, Bernama reported.
“I have been informed of an allegation of misconduct involving a senior management officer in one of the ministries,” Shamsul Azri said in a statement issued today.
“Accordingly, the officer has been placed on immediate leave while an investigation into the matter is carried out.”
Shamsul Azri also noted that if the officer is found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken in line with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993.
He emphasised that the government would not tolerate any violations of governance or misconduct involving public officials. – November 9, 2025
