KUALA LUMPUR – Two blocks of apartments, comprising 104 units, in Taman United, Seputeh, have been ordered to evacuate following a landslide today.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre (PGO) received a report of the incident at 11:02 a.m. A team from the Seputeh Fire and Rescue Station, including two fire engines and 11 personnel, was dispatched to the site for further action, local media reported.

Seputeh Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Armdan Mahat, explained that the landslide, which spanned an estimated 60 metres, had struck two cars and several motorcycles.

“One car was buried, while another was overturned. The landslide also affected the nearby low-cost apartments,” he said in a statement today.

As a result, the two apartment blocks, which house 104 units, along with adjacent premises, were evacuated due to continued soil movement and heavy rain in the area.

This decision was made following discussions with Seputeh’s parliamentary representative and engineers from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) at the scene.

“At present, no casualties have been reported. The fire and rescue team remains on-site to monitor any further soil movement,” Armdan added. – November 24, 2025
