KUALA LUMPUR – Renowned Malaysian power pop pioneers Couple will mark a monumental milestone in their career with the COUPLE30 concert on December 6, 2025, at Menara PT80 DBKL.

Formed in 1995, the band has earned a reputation for its unwavering commitment to independent music, forging an impressive legacy through a DIY ethos and a deep connection with fans.

Couple’s three-decade journey is a powerful testament to the strength of community support and their steadfast DIY approach.

Despite limited radio airplay in Malaysia, the band’s success has been driven by their devoted fanbase.

From hand-selling 2,000 copies of their second album Teenage Disc Fantastic at live gigs to utilising the early days of social platforms like Friendster and Myspace, and more recently, embracing streaming platforms like Spotify, Couple’s rise has been entirely fan-powered.

This dedication has transformed them from an underground phenomenon into a celebrated musical institution. Their debut album, Top Of The Pop, even saw international releases in the US and Japan.

Couple’s impact extends beyond their own success. They have long been champions of the local music scene, providing early platforms for emerging artists such as Hujan, Bunkface, Yuna, Tenderfist, and Pesawat. These artists opened for the band at their album launches and shows.

Couple’s ongoing commitment to the scene is evident in projects like the #TOTPcovers series and the newly announced #COUPLE30covers, which invite fresh talent to reinterpret the band’s iconic songs.

Their lasting connection with fans and peers ensures that Couple’s music continues to resonate with multiple generations. As demonstrated by their headlining performance at Tapaufest Asean in August 2025, the band continues to captivate audiences of all ages.

From Gen X parents to passionate Millennials and Gen Z fans, attendees eagerly sing along to classics like “Tentang Kita,” “Now That I Can See,” “Lagu Cinta Untukmu,” “Pergi,” and “Malam Minggu.”

COUPLE30 concert to unite members from all eras

The COUPLE30 concert, organised by the band’s DIY collective Petai Belalang KL, will feature opening acts Empty Page and The World Ends With You, continuing their tradition of supporting younger bands. With a 34-song setlist planned, the concert promises to be an unforgettable celebration of pop music, community spirit, and the independent ethos that has sustained Couple for three decades.

The concert will see all former members of Couple reunite for a unique performance, playing songs from their respective eras and albums, from their demo days (1995-2005) to the present. Each member will represent different periods of the band’s rich musical journey.
