KUALA LUMPUR – Days after being re-elected to a second term as Lamag assemblyman in the Nov 29 Sabah state election, former deputy chief minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin is in critical condition at the Gleneagles Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.
Bung is believed to be receiving treatment at the hospital, although details of his condition have yet to be officially confirmed.
In a Facebook post today, Bung’s son Naim Kurniawan Moktar expresses his deepest gratitude to all the imams in Lamag who have made the effort to perform the solat hajat and supplicate to Allah SWT for the health of his father.
“Your prayers and concern are greatly appreciated and have been a source of strength for our entire family. May Allah SWT bless all your efforts and grant you manifold rewards,” the post read
At the same time, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed his hopes for Bung’s swift recovery, urging the Umno veteran’s family to stay strong.
“May God grant him and his family strength and protection in enduring this trial. Truly every trial comes with its lessons. God-willing, may he recover immediately,” Hajiji wrote in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Sabah Umno deputy chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, with whom Bung has had a history of clashes, also prayed for his quick recovery.
“Our family’s prayers are that Datuk Seri Bung recovers swiftly. May Allah SWT make everything easy,” he posted in his Facebook. – December 4, 2025
