KUALA LUMPUR – Global e‑hailing provider inDrive has been cleared to fully resume operations in Malaysia after receiving renewed approval from the Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
The company secured its e‑hailing operating licence following a three‑month monitoring period, during which it met all compliance requirements set by APAD.
inDrive’s Driver Operations Manager, Azlan Anwar, said the approval reflects the company’s long‑term commitment to Malaysia and ensures stability for drivers, passengers and the wider mobility ecosystem.
“Over the past few months, we have strengthened every aspect of our compliance system. Internal procedures have been refined, document verification tightened and audit processes enhanced.
“This is to ensure that only drivers who meet all regulatory requirements are allowed to be active on our platform,” he said at a regulatory update briefing here today.
He added that inDrive has introduced additional safeguards and verification layers to prevent irregularities or the use of falsified documents.
On driver growth, Azlan revealed that the company is close to achieving its target of 40,000 active drivers, with about 95 per cent of the goal already reached.
Previously, APAD had issued a notice of licence cancellation to both Maxim and InDrive after audits uncovered non‑compliance, particularly in relation to the requirement for E‑Hailing Vehicle Permits (EPV). — December 18, 2025
