KUALA LUMPUR — An explosion believed to involve a homemade bomb occurred in the parking lot of a commercial area in Desa Palma, Nilai, at about 6am this morning, prompting a major police operation that led to the discovery of additional explosives.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the blast resulted in at least one person sustaining injuries in the initial explosion. Preliminary investigations by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) suggest that the device may have been accidentally detonated by a suspect, who subsequently fled the scene. Blood stains found at the location are believed to be linked to the incident.
Following a search of the area, police discovered a second bomb, which was safely detonated by the authorities. Officers also uncovered a large quantity of explosives hidden inside a unit on the upper floor of a shoplot within the same commercial complex.
Further investigations led police to identify a residence believed to be connected to the suspects. Materials commonly associated with the making of homemade explosive devices were found during the search.
The identities of the suspects and further details of the case have yet to be confirmed, as investigations are still underway.
Police have increased patrols in and around the area as a precautionary measure to ensure no additional explosive devices remain and to safeguard public safety. – December 22, 2025
