KUALA LUMPUR – National Defence University (Puspahanas) president Admiral Datuk Sabri Zali has strongly denied allegations of corruption and misconduct, describing them as misleading and malicious.

His legal advisor, Muhammad Firdaus Jumaludin, asserted that the accusations were not only baseless but could also damage the reputation and credibility of the country’s defence institutions, which are vital to national security.

Firdaus further emphasised that these accusations, if left unchecked, could lead to a miscarriage of justice, urging the public to allow the legal process to take its course.

“Datuk Sabri Zali has never been convicted of any crime, nor has he been found guilty of corruption, abuse of power, or misconduct by any competent authority,” he said at a press conference at Puspahanas in Putrajaya today.

Regarding claims that some individuals had purportedly obtained confidential documents related to the allegations, Firdaus clarified:

“Certain parties have claimed to possess ‘documents’, including those alleged to be confidential or originating from enforcement agencies. These documents were obtained unlawfully, taken out of context, and are open to modification and manipulation by irresponsible individuals. They should not be treated as evidence.”

He went on to say that Datuk Sabri Zali does not recognise the validity, authenticity, or sources of these documents.

On December 31, activist and Bersatu Port Dickson leader, Badrul Hisham Shahrin, better known as Chegubard, posted accusations of corruption against Sabri on his Facebook page.

Chegubard called for action to be taken against the Admiral, also posting several documents that allegedly linked Sabri to investigations involving the authorities, as well as the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

Firdaus stated that all matters related to this issue would only be addressed formally and in accordance with the law.

“Datuk Sabri Zali will not respond to anonymous accusations, speculation, or sensational narratives,” he added. – January 2, 2026.
