KUALA LUMPUR — Umno Sungai Besar Division Chief, Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos, has successfully auctioned one of his slippers and a towel to settle RM66,061.85 in court costs owed to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
The items, both used in a demonstration related to Selangor’s water crisis years ago, fetched RM66,000 at the auction. Jamal shared the news on his Facebook page, where he expressed relief over the sale, local media reported.
“Alhamdulillah, today I successfully auctioned one of my slippers and a towel used during a demonstration on Selangor’s water issue for RM66,000,” he said in a video lasting three minutes and 16 seconds.
The funds will be directed towards settling the judgment debt owed to Teresa Kok, following a court order.
Jamal explained that while his son, Mohamad Amin Daniel, had successfully delayed the seizure order, the auction proceeded as planned to ensure the payment would be made.
This issue stems from a High Court order obtained by Kok in January, leading to the seizure of Jamal’s movable property to satisfy the outstanding judgment. Previously, Kok had entered Jamal’s Ampang residence, replacing the kitchen door’s lock and knob as part of the enforcement of the seizure.

Two bidders participated in the auction, with one purchasing the towel for an undisclosed amount, and another from Sabah securing the slipper for RM33,000. The latter plans to frame the slipper and deliver it to Kok’s office soon, with payment arrangements made for the same day.
“We expect to receive the payment soon and will forward the amount to Teresa Kok,” Jamal assured.
In his remarks, Jamal said the auction served not only to settle the debt but also to restore his dignity.
He accused Teresa Kok of disregarding an earlier settlement agreement, which led to the court action and a forced entry into his home by court officers and police.
Jamal concluded by suggesting Kok consider starting a pig farming venture at her home, assuming it was not located in Selangor, a state where such activities are often met with resistance. – February 11, 2026
