KUALA LUMPUR – Former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) plans to raid his home following allegations linking him to a government agreement with UK-based semiconductor firm Arm Holdings.
Speaking at a press conference today, Rafizi said he had been informed of the impending raid but was unbothered by what he described as intimidation.
“I am a veteran in being arrested and locked up. Such tactics were employed by the previous regime, and they never worked,” he said, according to Free Malaysia Today (FMT).
He added that he had even told his wife to tidy up the house in preparation for the raid.
On his X account, Rafizi mocked the allegation, likening the situation to “The Empire Strikes Back”.
“Apparently, ARM bribed me. I didn’t even get lunch or souvenirs from ARM, let alone kickbacks. I’m still as poor as before. I don’t have millions in shares,” he wrote.
Rafizi also said he was accustomed to what he claimed were attempts by those in power to use government agencies to silence critics, dating back to the 1MDB era.
Earlier, three non-governmental organisations lodged a report alleging that a former minister abused his power in connection with a government contract worth nearly RM1.1 billion awarded to a foreign firm.
MACC has yet to issue a public statement on the alleged raid. – Feb 13, 2026
