KUALA LUMPUR – The official Facebook account of Bersatu was restored to the party’s legitimate administrators at 12.41am today after being compromised in a security breach on February 14.
According to Harris Idaham Rashid, Chief Information Officer of Armada Bersatu, four administrators had access to the account at the time of the breach.
These individuals were Ahmad Ikhwan Fadhli, Special Officer to former Deputy President and Opposition Leader Hamzah Zainudin; Meor Naqiuddin Shamsudin, Special Officer to former Supreme Leadership Council member Wan Ahmad Fayhsal; Fairus Amri Ibn Suaid; and Ahmad Syafiq Adham.
Harris explained that all four administrators had full access to the page’s functions, including content management, messages, community activities, advertisements, insights, permissions, and the ability to delete the page.
The breach occurred after Ahmad Ikhwan allegedly removed several official administrators on 13 February between 5.34pm and 5.35pm.
Those affected included Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, Head of Information; Mohd Ikhmal Abu Bakar, Presidential Media Officer; Na’im Brundage, Director of Armada Communications and Media; Sanjeevan Ramakrishnan, Supreme Leadership Council Member; Rio Rashid, Central Information Committee Member; and Frankie Ridz, Central Information Committee Member.
Harris confirmed that the compromised administrators were successfully locked out of the account at 12.41am, with full management of the account now returned to Bersatu officials.
He also acknowledged that the incident revealed hidden threats within the party and thanked those who contributed to the account’s swift recovery. – February 15, 2026
