KUALA LUMPUR — The Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma) has launched the MYFutureJobs Career Exploration Centre (MYCEC), Malaysia’s first high-tech immersive hub designed to transform how Malaysians explore careers and navigate the job market.
Officiated by Human Resources Minister Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan, the centre is positioned as a strategic bridge between national talent and industry needs.
The facility features interactive experiences, career assessments and future-focused tools powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital visual systems. Inspired by immersive gaming environments such as Roblox, the hub is tailored to engage younger users while offering career-matching aligned with current technological and market demands.
The launch addresses what the ministry described as a growing “talent mismatch” crisis affecting nearly two million Malaysians. Based on the Q4 2025 Labour Force Report, 1.96 million citizens are classified as skills-related underemployed, while one in three graduates is currently working in a field unrelated to their academic qualifications.
“This is a waste of potential that we cannot allow to continue,” Ramanan said at the launch, adding that many students fall into the “FOMO” (Fear Of Missing Out) trap by choosing career paths based on peer influence rather than industry demand.
To close these systemic gaps, Ramanan announced a RM5 million allocation from Kesuma, channelled through the Perkeso, to strengthen graduate employability and job-matching efforts.
From April 2026, the initiative will be rolled out to 400 public and private higher education institutions nationwide, starting with a pilot programme involving six selected universities.
The MYFutureJobs ecosystem’s effectiveness was demonstrated during the event with the presentation of offer letters to five job seekers who secured positions with monthly salaries exceeding RM5,000.
“This is not just symbolic. It is proof that the system we built truly functions,” Ramanan said.
“When a graduate receives an offer of RM5,000 or more, the happiest people are often the parents at home.”
The ceremony also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RHB Bank Berhad to extend MYFutureJobs access to 618,000 active RHB MySiswa Debit-i Card users. The collaboration aims to integrate career guidance services with Islamic financial solutions for students.
Located at Lot L2.14, Level 2, NU Sentral, the MYCEC features six dedicated checkpoints designed to help visitors explore new career pathways. The centre operates daily from 10am to 8pm, including weekends.
Entry is free. While walk-ins are accepted subject to availability, job seekers are encouraged to book slots in advance for a smoother experience. Future developments will include a Metaverse version of MYCEC and a Metaverse Career Carnival. — February 23, 2026
