It’s not wrong to contact officials to pitch ideas: Caprice responds to allegation of ‘chasing’ Rafizi

KUALA LUMPUR – It is not wrong for anyone to contact officials or ministers to propose ideas but what is wrong is for people to “freak out” on social media, said social media influencer Caprice.

Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, said this in response to a recent statement by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who claimed that the celebrity had previously been “chasing” him through his staff while he served as Minister of Economy.

According to Caprice, he had previously sent proposals to various ministries and government departments, and many ministerial officers had responded positively.

“This is just a proposal. Not solely for a job, but to share ideas, collaborations, and launchings. Alhamdulillah, many ministerial officers have given good cooperation before.

“For me, what’s wrong with contacting officials? That’s their function—to provide contact numbers and name cards. What’s wrong is when someone gets a job, fails, and then freaks out on social media,” he said in a social media post today.

On Monday, Rafizi claimed that Caprice had sent a message on 4 January 2024 requesting to meet his staff regarding a subsidy system previously presented to the Ministry of Domestic Trade (KPDN).

Rafizi said that at the time, the Ministry of Economy was drafting a policy to restructure subsidies.

However, Rafizi added that the request was ignored, and he claimed the influencer continued to “chase” his staff until 4 May 2025.

Meanwhile, Caprice said he had engaged with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism, and other ministries to provide ideas and proposals but was never left waiting.

He also mentioned that he had successfully developed an Islamic application together with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim).

Therefore, Caprice said that before labeling him as an influencer “desperately seeking jobs,” Rafizi should have conducted proper research first.

“Rafizi Ramli said I’m desperately seeking jobs in his ministry. His proof? Because I WhatsApped to invite his staff for coffee. Nah… this is what a pitch/proposal looks like,” he said.

Rafizi had also previously stated that he would proceed with a lawsuit against Caprice over allegations that he had personal interests in Invoke Solutions Sdn. Bhd.

Rafizi stressed that Caprice had been given the opportunity to apologize and provide an explanation but failed to do so. – 24 February 2026
