KUALA LUMPUR – Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan has announced the appointment of two seasoned industry professionals to the Board of Directors of the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK), reinforcing the nation’s efforts to develop high-impact skills through targeted training.
Ramelle Ashram Ramli will serve as board member and deputy chairman, while Ahsim Jamat joins as a board member.
Their appointments are expected to sharpen PTPK’s strategic direction, align vocational training with industry trends, and improve the delivery of training loan programmes.
Ashram brings a wealth of corporate experience in talent development and skills training.
He is expected to play a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of PTPK’s funding and ensuring the competitiveness of Malaysia’s workforce.
Jamat offers extensive expertise in human resource development and workforce training, supporting the rollout of more inclusive and responsive training policies.
“These appointments align with the government’s commitment to position PTPK as a cornerstone of the national skills ecosystem,” Minister Ramanan said.
He added: “I am confident that the combined experience and expertise of these two figures will provide significant value to PTPK.”
The Minister highlighted that their leadership would advance Malaysia’s ambition to become a high-income economy, powered by a skilled workforce capable of competing globally.
The restructuring reflects a growing emphasis on industry-led leadership and practical expertise to enhance governance within skills-related institutions.
