KUALA LUMPUR – The 800-litre monthly Budi95 limit for e-hailing drivers will be maintained to ensure operating costs remain under control, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said.

“The government will continue maintaining the RON95 subsidy at RM1.99 per litre, with an 800-litre monthly quota for e-hailing drivers to ensure their operating costs remain manageable,” he said at a press conference.

Diesel subsidies will also continue under existing schemes, including support for the logistics, public transport and cargo sectors, as well as a RM300 monthly subsidy for eligible diesel vehicle owners.

“For diesel, protection continues through SKPS for the logistics sector at RM2.05 per litre, while under SKDS, rates are set at RM1.88 per litre for public transport and RM2.15 per litre for cargo land transport,” he said.

Fadillah added that the government is closely monitoring the cost of living, noting that essential food supplies remain sufficient.

“The government’s approach is clear – to protect the people while safeguarding long-term economic stability,” he said.

As part of a broader push to reduce energy consumption, several measures will be introduced, including phased work-from-home arrangements for the public sector starting April 15.

Energy use in government buildings will also be tightened, with air-conditioning temperatures set at a minimum of 24°C. Civil servants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather to reduce reliance on excessive cooling.

“This reflects the government’s commitment to lead by example in using energy wisely,” he said.

Fadillah also urged the public and businesses to use energy responsibly and avoid spreading misinformation during the crisis.

“I urge the public and business community to work with the government in using energy efficiently, avoiding waste and ensuring every use is necessary,” he said.

He added that the government will continue to communicate transparently to keep the public informed without causing unnecessary concern.

“With collective effort, Malaysia will remain stable and resilient,” he said.

Earlier, the RON95 quota for general consumers was reduced from 300 litres to 200 litres per month, while the subsidised price remains at RM1.99 per litre. – April 2, 2026
