PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim performed the Aidiladha sunat prayer at Masjid Putra here today.

He arrived with his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, at 7.56 am and was received by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general, Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee, before entering the main hall to perform the prayers.

Anwar then recited the takbir Raya alongside more than 10,000 congregants before performing the sunat prayer, which was led by the mosque’s grand Imam, Dr Muhammad Zakuwa Rodzali.

He also listened to a sermon titled “Sacrifice Demands Sincerity”, delivered by Muhammad Zakuwa.

Anwar later mingled with the congregation after the prayers. – May 27, 2026
