Residents in Subang, PJ can still submit MyKhas requests: Fahmi

Comms Minister assures continuity of constituency services amid ongoing issues with MPs

KUALA LUMPUR – Residents in the Subang and Petaling Jaya parliamentary constituencies can continue submitting requests for assistance despite their MPs being denied access to the MyKhas portal, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said today.

Responding to questions over the restriction during his weekly press conference, Fahmi said the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) had assured that applications from both constituencies would still be processed.

“The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) has given a statement stating that people from both constituencies can still make requests, which will be reviewed by the ICU and JPM for approval,” Fahmi, who is also the Government’s spokesperson, said.

Fahmi explained that the MyKhas portal is linked to the Prime Minister’s special allocation and does not affect parliamentary entitlements, allowances or other provisions available to elected representatives through Parliament.

“Therefore, it is certain that something has happened that has caused this restriction to be imposed on them,” he said.

The issue first surfaced after Subang MP Wong Chen revealed that access to the MyKhas portal had been blocked on May 20, 2026. He subsequently claimed that the move had disrupted constituency services and public welfare initiatives.

In a statement issued on May 29, Wong called on the Prime Minister’s Office to provide a written explanation should the restriction be politically motivated.

“If this “punishment” is politically motivated, I would like to request the Prime Minister’s Office to state so in writing, following which I shall seek the advice of my lawyers as to whether this constitutes an abuse of administrative power,” he said.

Wong added that access to the portal had remained suspended for more than a week despite repeated official correspondence and hand-delivered letters to ICU offices in Selangor and Putrajaya.

“To date, ICU JPM has neither restored access nor provided any formal justification for the restriction,” he added.

The controversy widened after Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung disclosed that his office also lost access to the MyKhas system on May 29, effectively halting work related to constituency allocations, including Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR).

Lee said the disruption had prevented his office from carrying out normal constituency development processes and that no official explanation had been provided.

“To ensure the public is not left waiting without clarity, I have decided to make this matter public today,” he said in a statement posted on Facebook. – June 5, 2026
