KUALA LUMPUR — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former prime minister Najib Razak, has lodged a police report after allegations circulated online claiming she was involved in the purchase of a luxury property overseas.
In a detailed statement issued through her legal team, Rosmah condemned what she described as a coordinated smear campaign circulating across social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
“I write in response to the widespread circulation, across various social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, of a series of videos containing grave, false, and defamatory allegations directed against me and members of my family.
“I state, in the clearest and most unequivocal terms, that I deny each and every one of these allegations in their entirety. At no time have I been involved, whether directly or indirectly, in the purchase, financing, transfer, or ownership of any luxury property — including any property alleged to be valued at USD 13 million — nor have I financed, facilitated, or in any manner whatsoever arranged any such transaction on behalf of my son-in-law or any other individual or entity”
She further rejected suggestions that she was connected to shell companies, offshore structures or any individuals named in the viral content.
Rosmah added the allegations purporting to implicate her in the use of shell companies, offshore financial structures, or associations with any of the individuals or entities named in these videos are “wholly without foundation, utterly false, and maliciously fabricated.
Describing the claims as baseless and damaging, she said they were intended to mislead the public and damage her family’s reputation.
“The publication and dissemination of these allegations constitute, in the clearest sense, acts of defamation and malicious falsehood. The contents are misleading, deeply irresponsible, and plainly designed to deceive the public, to undermine confidence in lawful processes, and to cause grave and irreparable harm to my reputation and that of my family,” she said.
“In view of the gravity and seriousness of these matters, I have on 14th June 2026, lodged a formal police report so that the relevant authorities will conduct a thorough and complete investigation into the individuals and any related party and accounts responsible for the creation and dissemination of this false, malicious and defamatory material. I am extending my full cooperation to the authorities and remain firmly committed to doing so,”
She also called for swift action from social media platforms to remove the content and prevent further circulation, while reserving her legal rights to pursue both civil and criminal proceedings.
“I further demand, in the strongest possible terms, that the operators of all relevant social media platforms take immediate and decisive steps to remove, disable, and prevent any further circulation of these false and defamatory materials.”
“I hereby reserve all rights available to me at law, including the right to institute civil and pursue criminal proceedings against any individual or party who has published, republished, shared, or continues to disseminate these false and injurious allegations.”
“I call upon the public and the media to act with responsibility and restraint, to refrain from amplifying unverified, false and defamatory content, and to allow the authorities to conduct their investigations without interference or influence, in accordance with the due process of law.”
Meanwhile, businessman Tan Sri Daing A Malek Daing Rahaman has also filed a police report yesterday, strongly denying any connection to the allegations linking him to Rosmah or an alleged overseas property transaction.
His legal team referred to a viral post on X by user @lansvin, which alleged a USD 13 million property deal in the United States involving offshore structures and corporate entities.
The statement also described claims that a mansion in Margos Way, New Jersey, was purchased and later transferred through arrangements involving a BVI-registered company.
Daing rejected all allegations, calling them defamatory, misleading and damaging to his reputation.
“All the allegations that relate to me in the Publication are false, baseless, defamatory and gravely misleading. I categorically, unequivocally and without reservation deny each and every statement in the Publication as far as the same are directed at me.
“The allegations against me are wholly untrue. The Publication, circulation and recirculation of the false statements are wrongful and have caused serious injury to my reputation, character and personal integrity.”
He also warned the public against sharing or repeating the claims, stressing that legal action could follow for those who continue to circulate the material.
“All persons are placed on notice that the making, publication, republication, forwarding, sharing of the false statements will expose them to legal liability and criminal prosecution.
“Members of the public are cautioned not to rely upon, repeat, share or further circulate the false Publication or any part thereof that relates to me.”
He added that the matter remains under police investigation following his report.
“A police report has been lodged over the false Publication and the police are investigating into the matter, including tracing the perpetrators and their accessories concerning the Publication and republication by whatever means.” — June 14, 2026
