KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) have declared victory in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election after unofficial results indicated the alliance had won enough seats to form the next state government.
Based on the latest unofficial tally, the BN-PN alliance is on track to secure at least 23 of the 36 seats contested, comfortably surpassing the simple majority required to take control of the state assembly.
It is understood that the result leaves the coalition just one seat short of securing a two-thirds majority.
If confirmed by the Election Commission, the outcome would bring an end to Pakatan Harapan’s administration in Negeri Sembilan and deliver the first electoral victory for the BN-PN alliance since the two coalitions agreed to cooperate. – August 1, 2026
