KUALA LUMPUR – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today visited former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who is currently receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here.
On social media, Ahmad Zahid expressed his hopes for the Bera Member of Parliament’s swift recovery, while praying for his continued strength and good health.
“I pray that he will continue to be given strength and good health, that all his affairs will be eased, and that he will be granted a full recovery,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid also prayed that Ismail Sabri would regain his health and be able to resume his responsibilities and daily activities as usual.
Ismail Sabri was reported to have suffered health complications on Aug 6 while he was at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to have his statement recorded. He was later rushed to IJN for further treatment.
The former prime minister subsequently underwent a procedure to implant a wireless pacemaker at the institute to address an abnormal heart condition. – August 10, 2026
