KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur High Court today granted an injunction restraining Bloomberg News and other parties from publishing or disseminating statements allegedly defamatory towards businessman Datuk Seri Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.

In a statement today, Farhash’s solicitors, Messrs Ahmad Deniel, Ruben & Co, confirmed that legal proceedings had been initiated against Bloomberg News and its Malaysian subsidiary over the threatened publication of an article containing statements their client considers false and defamatory.

The legal action followed communications from Bloomberg News and its representatives indicating plans to publish an article containing allegations and insinuations concerning Farhash, the legal team said.

Following a hearing today, Judicial Commissioner Kan Weng Hin granted an injunction prohibiting Bloomberg News and other parties from publishing, republishing, circulating or otherwise disseminating the statements and alleged defamatory imputations identified in the proceedings.

The order also covers statements of a similar nature concerning Farhash, according to the solicitors.

Farhash was represented during the hearing by lawyers Aswath Ramakrishnan and Nur Irdina Syahirah Mohammad Wardi of the firm.

The solicitors said they would refrain from commenting further on the substance of the dispute as the matter was now before the court.

“As the matter is now before the Court, we do not intend to engage in any public debate or litigate the merits of the proceedings through the media. Our Client remains committed to protecting his reputation and vindicating his rights through the appropriate legal channels,” the statement said. – November 2, 2026
