KUALA LUMPUR – All parties in the unity government, including Umno and MCA, are invited to DAP’s annual conference at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel on Sunday.

DAP national organising secretary Steven Sim said this after being asked if Umno and MCA would be attending the conference.

“Some have replied and some haven’t. I haven’t received information about the VIPs that will attend yet… even the prime minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) is invited,” he said at a press conference here today.

Also present at the press conference were Sim’s party deputies Ng Suee Lim and Khoo Poay Tiong.

Sim said the conference is expected to host 3,868 attendees, and to be a platform to bring up internal issues, policy and the party’s direction.

“We will also discuss the formation of unity governments not only at the federal level but also at the state level.

“The direction of the unity government from the context of economic development policy will also be discussed.

This is DAP’s first annual conference with its unity government allies after the formation of the federal government.

Senator Noorita Sual will be the conference speaker, assisted by deputies Arul Kumar Jambunathan and Wong Mei Ing. – September 4, 2023
