KUALA LUMPUR – South Kalimantan in Indonesia has been rocked by a 7.4-magnitude quake at 2.55am Western Indonesian Time (3.55am Malaysian time).
According to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, the quake was detected at 180km off Tanah Bumbu and at a depth of 10km.
At the same time, the agency reported that a 6.5-magnitude quake was recorded 94km northeast of north Lombok at a depth of 571km.
However, these quakes did not did not trigger a tsunami warning.
Meanwhile, residents in the affected areas took to social media to share their experiences, with some claiming to feel the quake in Bali, Banyuwangi and Malang. – August 29, 2023
