Teo Nie Ching now heads Wanita DAP

She suceeds party wing’s long-time leader Chong Eng

KLANG – Teo Nie Ching has been elected to head Wanita DAP, succeeding the party wing’s long-time leader Chong Eng.

Chong, who held the position for 22 years, was named advisor of Wanita DAP’s national executive committee for the 2023-2026 term.

Teo, who is also the party’s national publicity secretary, and Chong were elected during the party wing’s national congress here today.

Meanwhile, Yeo Bee Yin was elected Wanita DAP’s deputy head, whereas Young Syefura Othman and P. Kasturiraani were selected as vice-heads.

The congress also elected Wong May Ing as the party wing’s secretary, Nicole Tan Lee Koon as assistant secretary, Alice Lau as treasurer, Liow Cai Tung as organising secretary and M. Thulsi as her assistant.

Heng Lee Lee was named publicity secretary, Lim Yi Wei was appointed assistant publicity secretary, Jannie Lasimbang was named international secretary, Syerleena Abdul Rashid was named political education director and Sangeet Kaur Deo will head the legal bureau.

Hannah Yeoh was elected a committee member, with five others namely Lan Suet Ling, Sally Sian Keng Eng, Jennifer Poh Chiou Shya, Leong Yu Man and Wong Siew Ki.

The congress was officiated by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke. – September 9, 2023
