We are happy with PH’s support, says BN’s Megat Zulkarnain

Selangor BN chairman says there are no problems between PH and BN camps

KUALA LUMPUR — Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Gombak Setia candidate Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin has expressed his satisfaction with the support Pakatan Harapan (PH) has given him so far, during his campaign to wrest the seat from Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Speaking at Dewan Wargamas Sri Gombak last night, the Selangor BN chairman said PH has always been by his side in terms of their commitment.

“I want to thank PH’s machinery for their support, but they have not only supported me in Gombak Setia but also in all 12 seats that we (BN) are contesting in Selangor.

“Even though we are only contesting 12 seats, they have gone all out in their support of us and we have also reciprocated that 200% to their candidates in seats where we are not contesting.

“This is the best cooperation between the two parties and we can see that in the work that has been done.

“During this campaign period, we have seen no problems from both camps; there have been no instances of shooing people away,” he said, referencing an incident where Gerakan president Dominic Lau Hoe Chai was told to leave a PN ceramah in Penang because he was not invited.

Lau is PN’s deputy president and Penang PN Chairman.

“Even though I don’t support Gerakan, but our mannerism as Muslims… that is not the way to do it.

“This party (PAS) says that they fight for Islam but has embarrassed a guest in public.

“There must be a problem there… that sort of stuff doesn’t happen in the unity government,” said Megat.
