MELAKA – Arvid de Kleijn of Tudor Pro Cycling Team again sprints his way to victory at Stage 6 of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) today.

Today’s route from Karak to Melaka covers a distance of 174.5 km.

This is the Dutchman’s second win after securing victory in Stage 1.

The podium was completed by Belgian Sasha Weemaes of Human Powered Health and Russian Stage 2 winner Gleb Syritsa of Astana Qazaqstan.

“It’s great, it was a super nice team effort, we were struggling a bit to hit the front.

“But we managed to do it at the right time, with a lead out like this, it’s amazing, and I managed to finish it off, so it was super nice,” said the man nicknamed the ‘Little Gorilla’.

De Kleijn was also relieved that the situation was brought under control near the end of the race.

“I had one more acceleration in me, but there was a bit of a headwind, so I knew I could not go full speed from the start.

“But in the end, I had it under control,” added the 29-year-old.

De Kleijn hopes to continue his winning streak with two stages remaining in the LTdL.

Malaysia’s best finisher was national team member Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli, who finished 16th. – September 28, 2023
