Asiad: Syafiq-Tze Liang contribute second diving bronze

Duo amass 380.22 points after six dives

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian divers Muhammad Syafiq Puteh and Ooi Tze Liang contributed another medal for the contingent at the Asian Games today.

In the men’s synchronised 3m springboard final, Syafiq-Tze Liang amassed 380.22 points after six dives to secure Malaysia’s second bronze medal in diving. 

Host nation pairing of Yan Siyu-He Chao, who scored 422.55 points, bagged the gold medal, while South Koreans Yi Jaegyeong-Woo Haram took home silver with a score of 393.00 points.

In the women’s synchronised 10m platform final earlier, Nur Dhabitah Sabri and Pandelela Rinong also bagged a bronze medal for Malaysia.

Syafiq and Tze Liang will each continue their quest in the men’s 3m springboard event, scheduled to commence on Tuesday. – September 30, 2023
