National Press Club, FTKLAA collaborate to host ‘Jom Jalan with NPC 2024’ walk event

Event features competitive 10km walk and 5km fun walk on June 2 at Padang Merbok

KUALA LUMPUR – The National Press Club of Malaysia (NPC) in collaboration with the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association (FTKLAA) are organising a walk event titled “Jom Jalan with NPC 2024.” 

Scheduled to take place on June 2 at Padang Merbok here, the event presents an exciting opportunity for individuals and families to come together.

It also aims to promote healthy lifestyles and community engagement through walking activities.

The event will feature two main categories tailored to different age groups and preferences. 

“The first category is a competitive 10km walk open to adults and children aged 13-17, while the second category is a 5km fun walk open to participants of all ages,” read its statement.

“Participants in the competitive category will have the opportunity to vie for prize money, with rewards allocated to the top performers. 

“In the open category for men and women, the prize money is set at RM500 for the first-place winner, followed by RM300 for second place, RM100 for third place, RM75 for fourth place, and RM50 for fifth place. 

“Similarly, in the boys and girls category, the prize money amounts to RM300 for the first-place winner, RM200 for second place, RM100 for third place, and RM50 each for fourth and fifth place.”

The organisers have set the closing date for registrations on April 30 or upon reaching a maximum of 2000 participants, whichever comes first.
