KUALA LUMPUR – The Twincity Marathon 2024 held at Persiaran Flora in Cyberjaya saw a resounding success today with over 8,000 participants.
Organised by Ten Senses, this event stands as one of Malaysia’s largest sporting spectacles and is now setting its sights on an even grander affair for its 10th anniversary in 2025.
Since its inception in 2015, the marathon has been on a remarkable journey of growth, initially drawing around 4,500 runners and nearly tripling in size by 2020 to encompass 12,000 participants.
With the 2025 milestone on the horizon, organisers anticipate an unprecedented turnout of 15,000 runners, eager to join the celebration of the marathon’s decade-long commitment to promoting unity, health, and community engagement.
The Twincity Marathon is not just about running – it is about fostering unity and camaraderie among participants.
From elite athletes to first-time runners, the event provides a platform for people from all walks of life to come together and share their passion for fitness and well-being.
In addition to promoting physical health, the marathon strongly emphasises overall wellbeing and community involvement.
Partnering with Avisena Specialist Hospital as the official health partner and collaborating with the Sepang City Council, the event strives to address health priorities and actively engage with the community.
Moreover, the marathon champions inclusivity by inviting special children to participate in dedicated segments of the event, promoting diversity and honouring the courage and determination of these individuals.
Twincity Marathon features four distance categories: full marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.1km), 12km run, and 5km fun run.
