PUTRAJAYA — The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has launched the International Youth Fund (IYF@KBS), a new initiative aimed at empowering young Malaysians to participate in international platforms and bring national representation to the global stage.
Deputy Minister Adam Adli launched the IYF@KBS at Menara KBS today, describing the initiative as part of the Madani Government’s efforts to build a competitive, globally engaged youth community.
The fund will support Malaysian youths aged between 18 and 30 who are members of registered associations, clubs, or organisations under the Registrar of Youth (ROY), Sports Commissioner’s Office (PJS), or Registrar of Societies (ROS).
“This initiative is designed to enhance leadership and advocacy skills, expand youth networks, and increase global exposure, in line with the Malaysia Madani values of creativity and confidence,” said the ministry in a statement.
Through IYF@KBS, selected youths will be sponsored to attend international meetings, forums, conferences, and symposiums hosted by organisations such as the United Nations (UN), Commonwealth, ASEAN, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other non-governmental bodies.
“The aim is to nurture a generation of globally competitive young Malaysians who can proudly represent the country on the world stage,” the statement read.
Funding will cover participation fees, return economy flights, accommodation and meal allowances, travel insurance, and visa costs, based on rates set by the Ministry.
Applications will be open in two phases: from Apr 16 to May 3 2025, and again from Apr 16 to Aug 1 2025.
