KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested the mother-in-law of a national footballer on suspicion of involvement in a passport stamp forgery syndicate during a raid on a flat in Gombak today.
The 46-year-old woman was detained together with three Pakistani men in an operation led by the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD).
According to sources, the raid followed months of intelligence gathering into a forgery network believed to be active in the area.
Police had earlier arrested another Pakistani man allegedly linked to the syndicate, whose detention led investigators to the Gombak flat.
A search of the premises uncovered several official seals from several countries, including Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia, believed to have been used to forge travel documents.
All five suspects were taken to the Rawang Police Station for questioning, while the seized items were confiscated as evidence.
Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed the arrests when contacted by Scoop.
“Police confirm that four Pakistani men and a local woman were detained on October 1,” he said.
“The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code, and all suspects have been remanded until October 8.”
The investigation is ongoing under offences related to forgery and immigration laws. – October 5, 2025
