KUALA LUMPUR — Johor’s state investment arm, Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ), kicked off its 30th anniversary celebrations today with a golf invitational that brought together state leaders and members of the media, setting the stage for the unveiling of its new corporate identity later this month.
The event, which took place earlier today, served as both a gesture of appreciation to the media fraternity and a symbolic nod to KPRJ’s close collaboration with those who have chronicled Johor’s transformation since the company’s establishment in 1995.
Among those in attendance were Johor State Secretary Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman, State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, and KPRJ chief executive officer Datuk Lukman Abu Bakar.
President of the Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM), Norismadi Abdul Manap, welcomed the initiative, describing it as a reflection of mutual respect and open engagement between the media and KPRJ.
“This invitational reflects the strong and positive relationship between the media and KPRJ, a partnership built on mutual respect and open engagement.
“As KPRJ celebrates its 30th anniversary, today’s gathering underscores the value of maintaining close, constructive collaboration as the organisation steps into its next chapter,” he said.
The invitational marks the start of a month-long celebration culminating in the launch of KPRJ’s refreshed corporate identity on November 17, under the theme “3 Dekad Membina Legasi, Mencorakkan Masa Hadapan” (“Three Decades of Building a Legacy, Shaping the Future”).
KPRJ said the upcoming identity launch will symbolise its forward-looking direction while honouring its three-decade legacy of driving Johor’s socio-economic development. — November 2, 2025
