KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor FC has been ordered to play their next two home matches behind closed doors and fined RM100,000 following repeated misconduct by their supporters.
Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, chairman of the Football Association of Malaysia disciplinary committee, said the decision was made during the committee’s first special meeting for the 2025–2029 term on Friday.
“Selangor FC is hereby ordered to play without spectators for their next two home matches in the FA Cup.
“This includes the second leg of the 2025–2026 FA Cup semi-final against Sabah FC at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium, Kelana Jaya, on Sunday, November 30, and their first home match in the FA Cup next season,” he said in a statement shared by FAM.
“Selangor FC is also fined RM100,000 due to repeated offences under Article 42, Paragraph 1 of the FAM Disciplinary Code,” Baljit added.
The sanctions follow the FA Cup quarter-final second-leg match on October 29, when the Red Giants faced Negeri Sembilan FC at the same stadium.
Selangor, five-time FA Cup champions, advanced to the semi-finals with a 6–3 aggregate victory.
“Selangor is given a stern warning, and harsher penalties will be imposed if the same violations occur again. The club may appeal this decision,” he said.
Baljit said the club was found guilty of several breaches, including the ignition and throwing of fireworks towards Negeri Sembilan supporters, damage to stadium seats, and throwing water bottles that injured two visiting fans.
“From the VIP seating, a VVIP from Selangor also threw a plastic drink container filled with water towards the family of a Negeri Sembilan player,” he said.
He added that Selangor supporters provoked clashes that led to scuffles between the two sets of fans.
“The club also failed to comply with match organisation obligations, including enforcing safety regulations, cooperating actively with local authorities, and adhering to FIFA security standards,” Baljit said. – November 15, 2025
