KUALA LUMPUR – Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT) has lodged a police report against a resort in Permas that allegedly promoted itself as a partner of the club.
The club confirmed the development in a statement on its official Facebook page, JOHOR Southern Tigers, today.
JDT stressed that the 11-time consecutive Malaysia Super League champions have never
entered into any form of partnership with the resort in question.
“A police report was filed yesterday. Additionally, JDT has requested the Johor Bahru City Council on two separate occasions to remove banners at the resort featuring the JDT name,” the statement said.
The club added that police had also recorded a follow-up statement regarding a previous report about the misuse of the JDT name and brand by a social media account impersonating the club’s official online store.
JDT has previously stated that it works closely with authorities to prevent unauthorized use of its logo and name.
“The club is aware of the unauthorized use of its registered logo and name by various parties, including online stores, resorts, tour operators, bus companies, jewelry outlets, unofficial merchandise sellers, and several social media accounts claiming to be the official JDT account,” the statement read.
“JDT has previously collaborated with local authorities to remove advertisements featuring the club’s logo, file police reports, and contact those misusing the club’s name and logo to cease such activity.
“The club will also initiate legal action against parties who refuse to comply,” it added. — January 20, 2026
