KUALA LUMPUR – PDRM FC have been handed a timely boost ahead of the Super League run-in after settling six months of unpaid wages, bringing much-needed relief to the club.
Head coach Eddy Gapil welcomed the development, describing it as a significant lift for the squad’s morale as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
PDRM FC, known by fans as “The Cops”, have four matches remaining and will host Imigresen FC this Saturday, aiming to close the campaign on a more positive note following a turbulent period off the pitch.
“I would like to thank the PDRM FC management for resolving this matter,” said Eddy in a brief conversation with Scoop.
“I hope the team can now focus fully and deliver our best performance against Imigresen.”
The club had been grappling with financial difficulties in recent months, with salary arrears affecting players’ focus and overall performances.
In November last year, the Malaysia Football League (MFL) fined PDRM FC RM70,000 and imposed a transfer ban after the club failed to clear the outstanding six-month payments.
The financial strain also led to the departure of former head coach P. Maniam, who has since joined the National Football Development Programme (NFDP).
Despite the setbacks, Eddy remains cautiously optimistic.
“We have to be realistic, but I believe in the quality of this team. We are determined to produce a strong performance against Imigresen,” he said.
PDRM FC will be without defender Alif Naquiddin, while Nigerian import Elisha Kashim is back to strengthen the squad for the remaining fixtures.
PDRM FC currently sits at the bottom of the Super League table with 10 points, out of 13 teams competing in the league. – April 22, 2026
