KUALA LUMPUR – As the FIFA World Cup 2026 draws closer, Royal Selangor is hoping to bring the excitement of football into homes worldwide with its officially licensed special edition collection.

The Malaysian pewter maker has unveiled a 13-piece series including figurines, drinkware, home accessories, and commemorative keepsakes, celebrating the tournament co-hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Prices start from RM150.

“For fans, we’ve curated a range of 13 pieces because we wanted to ensure there was something special for everyone,” the company said in a statement to Scoop.

“Any one of them can be for someone looking for a keepsake, a gift for a fellow supporter, or even a corporate gesture. We hope these pieces serve as an elegant thank you to the sport.”

Royal Selangor explained that the collaboration with FIFA is part of a wider strategy to attract new customers through sports and pop culture collectibles.

“From a broader perspective, we see our collectibles segment as a bridge,” the company said.

“We’re well aware that not everyone is familiar with pewter, so this is our way of reaching out to new audiences, in this case by introducing a sports fan to the beauty of our craft through their own passions.”

The brand added that first-time buyers drawn in by football memorabilia could develop a deeper appreciation for Royal Selangor’s heritage, which dates back to 1885.

“From that first interaction with the Royal Selangor brand, these new customers begin to understand our heritage in pewter craftsmanship, the sustainable practices we adopt and our constant innovation in product design,” it said.

Highlights of the collection include the FIFA World Cup 2026 Limited Edition Satin Football Trophy, a commemorative Gilt Medallion, and mascot figurines featuring Zayu the jaguar, Maple the moose, and Clutch the bald eagle. The series also includes tankards, tumblers, coasters, and photo frames, all adorned with official tournament motifs.

“The numerals ‘2026’, the year of the event, provides the starting point for the look and feel. This sets the visual tone for the graphics,” the company said.

“Silhouette line art of FIFA World Cup 26, the FIFA emblem and wordmark, as well as the host country mascots also form the motif on the merchandise.”

Royal Selangor noted its long-standing involvement with international sporting events, producing World Cup merchandise since 1986 and creating bespoke items for the 2006 tournament in Germany. Beyond football, the company has crafted trophies for Formula One races in Malaysia, Singapore, and China, as well as events like the Shanghai Rolex Masters, the Maybank Championship, and Petronas MotoGP races.

Looking ahead, Royal Selangor indicated that the FIFA collaboration could be a precursor to more sports-related offerings.

“Our core offering is in home décor, but just as we did with pop culture merchandise like Star Wars and Disney, we believe we can serve the football fan and collector well with our range of unique merchandise,” it said.

“Look out for more new sports merchandise collections from us in the second half of 2026.” – May 14, 2026
