KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysian Cub Prix rider Farres Putra Mohd Fadhill has died after suffering injuries in an accident during the CP150 final at the fifth round of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship at Litar Permotoran Terengganu today.
The Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) said the incident involving the CKJ Racing rider occurred at Turn 3 on the opening lap of the race, Bernama reported.
Farres Putra, who competed with number 33, was given immediate medical treatment at the circuit before being transferred to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu.
Despite efforts by the medical team treating him, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
“MAM acknowledges the swift response of the circuit medical team, emergency personnel, race officials, and the event organisers, Penang Motor Sports Club, together with the promoter, Safe Aim Mutual Sdn Bhd, in managing the incident,” the statement read.
MAM said the circumstances surrounding the accident would be dealt with in accordance with the relevant sporting and safety procedures.
The association also extended its condolences to Farres Putra’s family and loved ones, his CKJ Racing teammates and the wider Malaysian motorsports community.
“On behalf of MAM, we offer our heartfelt sympathies to Farres Putra Mohd Fadhill’s family, teammates, friends, and all those affected by this tragic loss,” it said. – August 29, 2026
