KUALA LUMPUR – The Royal Selangor Club (RSC) will host the 14th Royal Selangor Club Interclub Invitational Darts Tournament from Oct 10 to 11 at Dataran Merdeka.

The two-day tournament featured 32 teams from 20 premier clubs and institutions, including the Royal Lake Club, Royal Port Dickson Yacht Club and the Malaysian Bar.

The event will also mark the extension of RSC’s lease at Dataran Merdeka, securing the club’s presence at the historic site for another 60 years.

“This critical extension ensures that the landmark home will be preserved for sports, community and heritage for the next 60 years,” RSC said in a statement today.

A total prize pool of RM6,100 is on offer, funded through corporate sponsorships and personal donations from RSC members.

The RSC team will be led by former national champions Victor Poulose and Connie Loo Sim-Woo.

Poulose is a former Malaysian international who competed in several major tournaments, including the Malaysian Open, Singapore Open, Hong Kong Open and the PDC World South Asian Qualifying Event.

Loo, a former Malaysian women’s international, won the women’s singles title at the 2001 Malaysian Open and has continued to compete in domestic events, including representing RSC.

S S Ruben is also expected to bolster the RSC lineup after winning the Altis Unseeded Challenge Final Series.

Royal Selangor Club Sports Chairman Jimi Low said the tournament would bring together some of the country’s finest darts players while celebrating the club’s continued presence at Dataran Merdeka.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome the finest darts talent from across the country to our historic grounds,” he said.

“This 14th edition is doubly special as we not only showcase elite sportsmanship with legends like Victor and Connie alongside emerging talents like Ruben, but also celebrate the securing of our Dataran Merdeka home until 2086, preserving this iconic legacy for generations to come.”

Tournament play will begin on Saturday morning, with the grand finals scheduled for Sunday. – October 7, 2026
