Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has defended research by two of its academics on Malay maritime history which has been slammed by some quarters for wrongly attributing ancient Chinese vessels with Malay origins.
The letter issued by Education Deputy Director-General (School Operations) Azman Adnan has since been leaked and circulated online. It states that the week, to be held from October 29 to November 3, is part of the ministry’s effort to express unity in upholding universal humanitarian values.
An additional allocation of RM50 million approved by the government for the expansion of the Rahmah concept will be able to produce various new initiatives in an effort to help the people face the challenges of rising living costs.
