Cheras police chief said preliminary investigations found that at 11.30am on the day of the incident, the victim was asleep in the room when her father went out to buy food. At 2.30pm, the victim's father returned home to find the child unconscious.
In a statement on the matter, PayNet, the operator of DuitNow QR, clarified that the fee follows the lifting of a waiver on the merchant discount rate, which is charged based on a percentage of the payment transaction value.
