The Malaysian Children’s Commission Bill aimed at creating an independent commission responsible for advocating and enhancing the protection and rights of children is expected to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat next week.
Since the establishment of the Office of the Children’s Commissioner in 2019, the highest number of complaints received by the office involve child protection issues whilst protection connotes protection from sexual offences, abuse, and negligence.
