The National Film Development Corporation and the government are sponsoring the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme contributions for some 4,500 local screen artists as part of efforts to improve the welfare and social safety net of creative industry practitioners.
Senator Susan Chemerai Anding said inefficient and time-consuming IP registration process contributes to an atmosphere in the creative industry that is not conducive, including for small entrepreneurs who want to register their respective intellectual property.
