Malaysia can climb out of debt if citizens work harder, and government agencies spend less on festive celebrations, DAP lawmaker Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said.
The government’s fiscal deficit since 1998 has resulted in mounting debt for the current administration, hampering the implementation of new development projects intended to improve the lives of Malaysians, said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.
There has been a spate of viral videos showing vehicles from neighbouring countries such as Thailand and Singapore being filled with Malaysia's heavily subsidised RON95 petrol, indicating a blatant disregard for local laws.
