The underperformance of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange the early 2000s can be attributed to the aftermath of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the economic policies implemented during Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s tenure as prime minister, said Tan Sri Halim Saad.
