Police suspect the anonymous caller alleging to have placed bombs around Johor Bahru’s Mid Valley Southkey and St. Giles Hotel Southkey to be a foreigner.
The management team of Mid Valley Southkey, a shopping mall in Johor Bahru, and St. Giles Hotel Southkey have confirmed that they received a report of a security threat earlier today.
There has been a spate of viral videos showing vehicles from neighbouring countries such as Thailand and Singapore being filled with Malaysia's heavily subsidised RON95 petrol, indicating a blatant disregard for local laws.
