Losses due to floods throughout the country during the Northeast Monsoon this time are estimated at almost RM1 billion, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Government agencies and residents in the southern region have been urged to be vigilant and follow standard operating procedures as the fourth wave of the Northeast Monsoon moves south.
The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) predicts continuous downpours in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Pahang, Perlis, Penang and Perak until next Tuesday.
