The fire that occurred on the 17th floor of Block 70 in the Sri Sabah flats, Cheras last Sunday is believed to have originated from electrical wiring issues, said Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Muhammad Salleh Abdul.
Around 11am today, a team comprising two officers, six fire investigation unit personnel, and two K9 detection dogs named Jim and Woody arrived at the scene.
The Sri Sabah 3B residents' association chairman, Zainal Abidin, said the decision came after a discussion with the Social Welfare Department director, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and the school headmaster.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Nordin Pauzi said this had forced the department to put a water pump on the 16th floor to facilitate the extinguishing process with water.
