The United Nations General Assembly's Committee on Economic and Financial Questions (Second Committee) has voted in favour of a resolution affirming the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over their natural resources.
Malaysia has called on the UN Security Council to act in line with the organisation's General Assembly, after the latter adopted a resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian truce between Israeli forces and Hamas in Gaza.
